Good conventional zoom, March 4, 2008 This review is from: Tamron AF 75-300mm f/4.0-5.6 LD for Nikon Digital SLR Cameras (Electronics) I bought this lens with my Nikon D80 and used it a great deal of the time. Partnered with a warming filter, this lens took nice pictures. It was a workhorse for me until I started doing outside shots at football games. This its slow AF became an issue and I upgraded to the Tamrom AF 70-300 Di model. I also took some close up shots with this lens, but I had to get quite a ways back. This is a good starter zoom, but will show its shortcomings pretty soon.

similar affordable lens with 70mm-500mm.

Great for the price!, July 20, 2006 By This review is from: Tamron AF 75-300mm f/4.0-5.6 LD for Nikon Digital SLR Cameras (Electronics) A wonderful beginners lens to practice telephoto skills, especially for the price! I bought it to take photos in Yellowstone National Park, and it never failed me when I wanted to zoom in on animals and landscape features!
Although if you are looking for the most amazing lens quality, this is not for you!
